Financing Sources of Firms – A Special View of the Municipality of Peja

The paper focuses on possibilities of business in providing financing resources during their business cycle. Businesses face a number of difficulties in case of providing financing resources especially for external financing source.
With the purpose of identifying these difficulties, a survey was realized with businesses in the Municipality of Peja, respectively with owners or their managers. Research results derived that businesses in the Municipality of Peja have limited possibilities on providing financing resources and as an alternative option for most of them are family loans, remittances, commercial loans and other alternatives to secure survival, increasing and maintaining the life of their business.
Creation of better business climate and government support on favor of businesses through tax facilitating, grants and other support forms in a way to influence the development of businesses and the economy in general are needed.

Current Transfers as the Main Source for Covering Trade Deficit –The Case of Kosovo

The very high trade deficit is one of the main characteristics of the external sector of Kosovo’s economy, which is a similar characteristic that can be found in many developing countries and transition economies.
This paper aims to examine the empirical data regarding the performance of the trade balance of the Republic of Kosovo for a period of seven years, and in turn analyze the field of current transfers, which has historically been the main source of coverage of high trade deficit. In the current account balance of payments two main items are identified: the trade balance and current transfers. The first item shows the deficit and the other one shows the surplus on billions euros. The interest in this study arises from compensatory relation that these two items have. In the first part of this paper the literature review about the trade deficit, trends and trade balance of Kosovo is analyzed; in the second part the unilateral current transfer item is analyzed, with particular emphasis on private transfers and remittances, whereas in the third part the legitimacy of these two items is confronted, the compensation amount and the consequences.

The Factors that Affect the Economic Growth in Albania

The economic growth is the most important indicator in determining the welfare of a country, thus affecting the growth of income level. The economic growth is one of the indicators most used by economists, governments and international economic organizations and is also considered as synonymous with development.
Economic growth is an indicator of the performance of the management of economic resources of the period by identifying the economy of a country.
Given the great importance that has the economic growth for a country, the study makes an analysis of the process of economic growth in Albania after 1990 and until our days, by determining which the main sources that have provided growth were. But, despite the problems arising in this regard, the study currently is trying to show which should be the new model that will provide long-term economic growth of the country.
